In 1998 I started learning how to create web pages By
teaching myself how to write HTML. My knowledge started
with reading books, magazines and web pages filled with
how-to articles. Over the years I've learned many different
ways of designing a web site.
I learned how to create a complete web site using nothing but graphics.
While designing a web page using graphics makes a web site look more eye-catching
and stands out from a web site using just text and no graphics. On the
other hand web site with just text makes for a fast loading web page which
is good if you want to make an online written report For many people to
view without using hundreds of pieces of paper.
There are many, many technologies in use today for designing a web page.
Most are very complicated and take years to learn. An example of these;
JavaScript, PHP, Java, XML, ASP and flash just to name a few. There are
more being developed everyday. There are also many ways for developing
a database for keeping track of users that login, itemized lists, and
items that you would like to sell online.
My philosophy is, why confuse people with so many ways to design a web
page. Therefore, I create all my pages using just HTML. If my client wishes
I'll use PHP or some other form of coding. Creating an all graphical web
site is very time-consuming. I rely on using text and graphics to design
eye appealing and easily navigatable web sites that require less time
downloading and allows you more time for viewing.
